Klima: På grunn av høyden over havet har store deler av landet subtropisk klima. Det er stor forskjell på dag- og nattemperatur. I sommertiden (sept.-april) kan temperaturen om dagen gå opp i 35 grader, mens det om natten kan komme under 20 grader. I vintermånedene juni- august ligger temperaturen om dagen på 15-20 grader mens den om natten kan gå ned mot null grader. Regn faller sjelden bortsett fra mellom november og mars.

With Zimbabwe's current prevalence in international news we feel that it's only fitting to send through an update to all of you on the situation on the ground here for volunteers and international visitors. This is an independent assessment and conveys with as much simplicity and sincerity the beliefs of African Impact and African Encounter as a whole.
Firstly, we would like to assure you all once again that if at any stage we felt that it were unsafe for us to welcome new volunteers into Zimbabwe we would advise those volunteers not to join us. It would be foolhardy for us to do otherwise. However, we remain confident that Zimbabwe is still a viable travel option for volunteers, and due to the extent of our operations on the ground throughout Southern and East Africa, and Zimbabwe in particular, we are able to gather extensive information on the situation which we assess on a daily basis. This network also allows us to provide for volunteers in as ample a manner as they have come to expect from us, and our extensive resources will be made use of during the current situation in Zimbabwe.
We feel that we must emphasize that it is an economic situation that Zimbabwe is facing, rather than an issue of safety to international travelers. Hotels in the tourist hot spot of the Victoria Falls remain with occupancy percentages of up to 75% in many cases, particularly now during the busy tourist season.
We feel that the situation on the ground on a day to day basis is being misrepresented in overseas media, and after recent project visits to Hwange and Victoria Falls have had numerous conversations with current volunteers on the ground who will attest to this.
